AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale softball team overcame an early deficit and routed Northland Lutheran 15-5 in its final Marawood Conference South Division game pf the season Monday at Auburndale High School.
Northland Lutheran (0-9 overall and Marawood South) scored four runs in the top of the first inning before Auburndale (6-14, 3-9 Marawood South) chipped away.
The Apaches scored once in the first, tied the game with three in the second, and then blew it open with an eight-run third after falling behind 5-4.
Auburndale ended the game via the 10-run rule with a three-run fifth inning.
Katie Lundgren and Brooke Anderson each had three hits, and Rachael Bolder had a pair of doubles for Auburndale.
Robyn Brokish earned the win, striking out eight in five innings.
Auburndale will participate in the WIAA Division 3 playoffs beginning May 26.
