LOYAL – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team’s season came to an end Wednesday as it lost a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal to Loyal 13-1.
Loyal scored six times in the first three innings and finished off the win via the 10-run rule with a seven-run fifth inning.
Jeremy Binder suffered the loss for the Dons (10-11). He allowed eight hits and five walks, while striking out five. Three Columbus errors led to four unearned runs.
Colton Roehl and Ryley Fischer each hit home runs for Loyal (12-12). Fischer and Ryley Gieger combined on a one-hitter.
The Greyhounds move on to a Division 4 regional final at Rib Lake on Friday.
