WAUSAU – The Auburndale volleyball team opened up its 2015 season with one win in three hard-fought matches on Tuesday at the Wausau West Quad.
All three of the Apaches’ matches went the full three games.
Auburndale defeated Lakeland 25-12, 23-25, 25-12, before losing to Marathon 20-25, 25-23, 25-8, and to Wausau West 25-20, 20-25, 25-20.
Robyn Brokish had 18 kills and 14 digs, Taylor Gotz added 16 kills and 12 digs, Jenna Ertl led the defense with 21 digs, and Sydney Schmutzer had 48 assists for the Apaches.
Auburndale will compete at the Green Bay East Invitational on Saturday.
