MARSHFIELD – More than 1,000 middle school and high school runners from schools in Wisconsin and Minnesota will compete in the 42nd annual Marshfield Columbus Catholic Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Wildwood Park.
The invite begins with middle school boys at 8:50 a.m. and girls at 9 a.m., and will conclude with an awards program at noon.
Teams from central Wisconsin that will be competing include Columbus Catholic, Marshfield, Stevens Point Pacelli, Wisconsin Rapids Assumption, Edgar, Granton, Owen-Withee and Thorp.
Both the high school girls and boys will run a 5,000-meter course, with the middle school runners going two miles.
