MARSHFIELD – The 2015 season marks the 75th season of football of Beell Stadium, located on the campus of Marshfield Middle School.

The facility’s construction was completed in 1941 and dedicated on Sept. 26, 1941. On Nov. 12, 1941, the Marshfield Board of Education officially adopted the name Beell Stadium in memory of fallen Marshfield Police Office Fred Beell, who was killed in the line of duty in 1933. Today, a Rock and Memorial Plaque greet visitors on the North end of the stadium and remind our community and players of the dedication and sacrifice Beell gave for our community.

The Marshfield High School Athletic Department is asking all alumni, community members, and fans to help us celebrate 75 years of football at Beell Stadium by sharing a favorite story or memory to be included in an upcoming publication.

Share your stories with all who have been a part of Beell Stadium during the past 75 years via email to paul@marshfieldareasports.com, by mail to Marshfield High School, c/o Nathan DeLany, 1401 E Becker Rd., Marshfield, WI 54449, or by phone at 715-387-8464. All stories must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Sept. 22.

The compiled stories will be available in a publication at the Marshfield Tigers home football game on Friday, Sept. 25, at Beell Stadium vs. Hortonville, at the Booster Bash the following night, at marshfieldareasports.com, and on the high school website, marshfield.k12.wi.us. Uphold Tradition and Honor the Past is a true staple of our community.

The 75th Anniversary of Beell Stadium is just one reason to attend the home game on Sept. 25. Also that night, the Marshfield Tiger Booster Club will host its 1st Booster Dash 5k Fun Run. The kids race starts at 5:30 p.m., with a 5K starting at 6 p.m. Each race begins and ends at Beell Stadium. Information can be found on the facebook.com/MarshfieldTigerBoosterClub. The weekend comes to a close on Saturday night with 3rd Annual Booster Bash and Raffle at the Marshfield Fairgrounds Youth Building. Tickets are $25 for the Bash and $10 for the raffle, and can be purchased in the high school and middle school main offices or from a Booster Club board member.
