PARK FALLS – The Auburndale football team won its second-straight game, getting past Chequamegon 21-7 in a Marawood Conference game Friday at Chequamegon High School.
The Apaches improve to 2-2 overall and in the Marawood, while the Screaming Eagles are now 1-3 and 1-2 in the conference.
Auburndale hosts Fall Creek in a nonconference game on Sept. 18.
Kurt Jankowski ran for two touchdowns and caught a 77-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Isaacson for the Apaches’ three scores.
Chequamegon led 7-0 before Auburndale’s defense buckled down and the offense was able to pull the team ahead.
Jankowski had a 14-yard TD run and the long touchdown reception in the second quarter to put the Apaches up 14-7 at halftime.
Jankowski’s third TD came on a 3-yard run with 8:11 in the third quarter to cap the scoring.
