SPENCER – The Spencer volleyball team came back from a 2-0 deficit to top Medford 3-2 in a nonconference match Thursday night at Spencer High School.

Medford won the first two games by identical 25-21 scores before the Rockets stormed back to win the first three games 29-27, 25-15, 15-9, to take the match.

“That was a match of momentum between two solid teams,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “We started a little slow but got some energy by winning the tight third set. It should be great for both teams heading into the playoffs.”

Macie Weber had 22 kills, nine blocks and seven service aces to lead the way for Spencer.

Sadie Mercier had 29 assists, Jenna Rogers had 19 digs, and Liz Endreas added 11 kills for the Rockets.

Spencer will compete at the Altoona Invitational on Saturday.
