WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Morgan Irish placed 13th and Dani Bender was 16th to lead the Marshfield girls to a sixth-place finish at the Wisconsin Rapids Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at The Ridges Golf Course.
Irish finished in 20:33 and Bender ran in 21:00 to lead the Tigers.
Jordan Dzikowich led the Marshfield boys with a 41st-place finish (18:20) as the Tigers finished 12th.
Stevens Point swept the boys and girls team titles.
“Morgan and Dani were both medalists today and are having a real good October,” Marshfield coach Dan Akin said. “They are running very well. The girls team is really coming around nicely and I look for good results the next two weeks.
“Jordan Dzikowich is stepping up right now being our number one runner the last three meets. The boys keep improving their times and I couldn’t be happier for them.”
Marshfield will compete at the Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet at Nine-Mile Forest in Rib Mountain on Oct. 17.
