Marshfield freshman football blanks Medford, finishes season 7-1

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield freshman football team finished the season with a bang, blasting Medford 47-0 on Tuesday at Marshfield High School.

Caden Pearce had touchdown runs of 58 and 30 yards, Blaine Neinast had TD runs of 64 and 10 yards, Preston Wagner threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to D.J. Zimmermann, Hunter Hanson added a 1-yard touchdown run and Nolan Hertel returned a fumble 25 yards for a score for Marshfield.

Hanson and Neinast also had two-point conversion runs for the Tigers, who finish the season with a 7-1 record.

Sam Mitchell, Justin Kuse and Austin Mientke were Marshfield’s leading tacklers, Wagner added an interception and Szemborski also had a fumble recovery for the Tigers’ defense.
