STEVENS POINT – Marshfield won four races but couldn’t compete with Stevens Point’s depth and dropped the Wisconsin Valley Conference girls swimming dual meet 114-55 on Thursday at Stevens Point Area Senior High.
Elizabeth Holbrook won the 200 IM in 2:28.70 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.75, Valerie Kushnir took first in the 100 butterfly in 1:11.68, and Sophie Koehn earned the win in the 100 backstroke in 1:07.42 for Marshfield’s four individual victories.
Koehn, Holbrook, Megan Donahue and Ryenne Zee was second in the 200 medley relay in 2:05.28, and Koehn took second in the 50 freestyle (27.16 seconds) for the Tigers.
The Tigers end the Wisconsin Valley Conference schedule with a 1-5 record. SPASH wins the regular-season conference title by going a perfect 5-0 in dual meets.
Marshfield’s next meet is a nonconference dual at Lakeland on Oct. 20, and the Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet is at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Oct. 29.
