SPENCER – Two Stratford boys and two girls earned top-10 finishes at the 2015 Marawood Conference Cross Country Meet on Thursday at Frey Field.
John Geissinger was sixth in 17:34 and Josh Guyer took 10th in 17:50 for the Stratford boys, while Johnelle Miner was fourth in 20:24 and Macie Schillinger finished seventh in 20:48 to lead the Tigers girls.
Chequamegon won the boys team title with Stratford third and Auburndale 10th. Phillips won the girls title as Stratford took fourth and Auburndale was fifth.
Isabella Jewell led the Auburndale girls, finishing ninth in 21:12. Teammate Kali Karl was 11th in 21:24.
Auburndale’s top boy was Carver Empey, who ended up 29th in 18:31.
Kevin Koski of Chequamegon (15:48) and Anna Buchberger of Marathon (20:01) were individual champions.
The top eight finishers were named first-team all-Marawood Conference, with the ninth- through 16th-place runners named to the second team, and the 17th- through 24th-place runners named honorable mention.
Auburndale and Stratford will compete at the WIAA Division 3 sectional on Friday, Oct. 23, at Nine-Mile Forest in Rib Mountain.
