WAUSAU – Auburndale was limited to five hits by Wausau Newman Catholic’s Luke Prososki in an 8-1 loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday.
Auburndale’s Austin Hawkins struck out eight but walked five and allowed six hits as Newman cashed in for eight runs.
Kyle Willfahrt had two of the hits for Auburndale and scored the Apaches’ lone run on a hit by Rhys Wahleithner.
Auburndale hosts Marathon on Thursday and Stratford on Friday.
