TOMAH – Macie Frueh scored 18 points to lead the Stratford girls basketball team to a 59-52 victory over Tomah in a nonconference matchup to open the season for both teams on Friday night.
Frueh had all three of the Tigers’ 3-pointers and made 5 of 6 free throws. Kaylee Hollatz added nine points, six coming in the second half, for Stratford.
Stratford made 20 of 33 free throws, including 17 of 24 in the second half as it held off the Timberwolves.
Stratford’s next game is Tuesday at Edgar.
