TOMAH – Marshfield took an early lead but surrendered three-straight goals and fell 3-2 to Tomah in a nonconference boys hockey game Friday night as part of the Tomah Invitational.

Ryan Krueger scored off an assist from Zachary Schmidt 7:16 into the game to give the Tigers an early 1-0 lead, but it wouldn’t hold.

Ray Peterson, Billy Shorewood and Jake Weiland scored to put Tomah up 3-1 before the Tigers inched closer.

Krueger scored again at the 8:47 mark of the third period to get the Tigers to within a goal, but they couldn’t get another one past Tomah goalie Brady Pierce, who had 18 saves.

Haydon Roy-Peterson had 22 saves in goal for Marshfield (0-2).

Marshfield will play Sauk Prairie at 2 p.m. Saturday in the third-place game of the tournament.
