STRATFORD – The Stratford boys basketball team couldn’t hold on to a seven-point halftime lead and lost 54-45 to Stevens Point Pacelli in a nonconference game Monday night at Stratford High School.
The Tigers led 27-20 at halftime but was outscored 34-18 in the second half in the loss.
Derrick Schmidt scored 17 points and had 12 rebounds, and Brenden Fecker added 15 for Stratford, which falls to 1-1 this season.
Schmidt and Fecker were 14 of 26 from the field, while the rest of the Tigers went just 5 of 22 shooting. Stratford was just 1 of 17 from 3-point range.
Stratford’s next game is Saturday night at Owen-Withee.
