MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield gymnastics team held an intrasquad scrimmage on Tuesday night at Marshfield High School.
The Orange Team comprised of Traci Fuehrer (co-captain, senior), Ciera Neufeld (junior), Macey Smith (sophomore), Bailey Schmitt (sophomore), Emma Haugen (freshman), Ally Bakke (freshman), and Melanie Hafenbredl (freshman), defeated the Black Team of Megan Smith (co-captain, senior), Audrey Horvath (junior), Makenna Gramza (sophomore), Isabelle Jensen (sophomore), Brooke McGrath (freshman), Maddie Adams (freshman), and Merrissa Immerfall (freshman), by a score of 115.8-114.1.
Winners of the individual events were McGrath on the vault (8.8) and floor exercise (8.4), Megan Smith on the bars (7.8), and Hafenbredl on the balance beam (7.2).
“This was a great opportunity for the girls to have a fun and competitive meet,” first-year Marshfield coach Allie Dryer said. “MHS has a very deep team this year, but overall it is a very young team. We have a very talented group of freshman who joined our experienced team.”
The Tigers open their season Thursday with a nonconference meet against Chippewa Falls at the Marshfield High School Fieldhouse.
