MARSHFIELD – Loyal shot just 29 percent but took advantage of 20 Columbus Catholic turnovers and held a 39-23 rebounding advantage in a 69-41 victory over the Dons on Tuesday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Karsyn Rueth scored 18 points and eight rebounds, and Devyn Schoonover added 13 points and six assists for the Greyhounds, who improve to 4-1 and 3-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Loyal is tied with Spencer for first place in the conference and the two teams play each other at Loyal on Friday.

Abby Baierl had eight points for the Dons, who made just 10 of 50 field goals in the loss.

Columbus Catholic hosts Granton on Friday night.
