Marshfield girls basketball player Ema Fehrenbach has been voted as the WDLB-WOSQ Radio & MarshfieldAreaSports.com November High School Athlete of the Month.
The High School Athlete of the Month Award is sponsored by Marshfield Clinic, Cost Cutters Family Hair Care and Burt Trophy & Awards.
Varsity athletes from the following high schools are eligible to be nominated for the award: Abbotsford, Athens, Auburndale, Colby, Columbus Catholic, Edgar, Granton, Greenwood, Loyal, Marathon, Marshfield, Neillsville, Owen-Withee, Pittsville, Spencer, Stratford and Thorp.
Fehrenbach defeated Loyal girls basketball player Karsyn Rueth by 79 votes to win the voting. Spencer/Columbus Catholic football player Hunter Luepke and Hunter Schultz of the Columbus Catholic boys basketball team were also nominated and nearly 1,300 votes were cast between Dec. 1-7.
Fehrenbach, a junior forward, started the season with a bang as the Tigers ran out to a 3-0 record. Fehrenbach had a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds) in a win over Marathon on Nov. 27, and followed that up with 20 points and eight rebounds in a victory over Rhinelander on Nov. 28 as the Tigers went 2-0 at the Antigo Holiday Tournament. She also scored 18 points in a 41-point thrashing of La Crosse Central on Nov. 30.
Fehrenbach joins Abbotsford volleyball player Makenzie Klieforth (September) and Spencer/Columbus football player Noah Zastrow (October) as winners of the monthly award during the 2015-16 school year.
