SPENCER – Neillsville’s 3-point and free throw shooting proved to be just enough to push the Warriors past Spencer 44-39 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game on Tuesday night at Spencer High School.
Neillsville made 7 of 20 shots from 3-point range and 11 of 17 free throws to slip past the Rockets, who fall to 5-3 overall and 4-2 in the Cloverbelt East.
Neillsville (8-2, 7-1 Cloverbelt East) held an 11-5 advantage in free throws.
Sydney Kind led Spencer with 14 points and Macie Weber added 11. Weber was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line.
Ashlee Diestler topped the Warriors with 12 points, which included three 3-pointers.
The Rockets play at Owen-Withee on Thursday.
