Columbus Catholic girls basketball whips Athens to end losing streak

ATHENS – Four Columbus Catholic players scored in double figures to lead the Dons to a 74-51 victory over Athens in a nonconference girls basketball game Monday night at Athens High School.

Columbus’ point total was a season high and marks only the second time all season it has scored more than 50 points in a game.

The Dons end a three-game losing streak and improves to 4-7. Athens falls to 1-9.

Morgan Albrecht scored 14 points and Kendra Baierl, Abby Baierl, and Marissa Immerfall each had 12 points for the Dons. Abby Baierl and Immerfall each added 12 rebounds, and Kendra Baierl had 11 boards in the win.

Columbus Catholic is at Gilman on Tuesday.
