Stratford boys basketball routs Northland Lutheran

STRATFORD – Derrick Schmidt scored 16 points to lead four Stratford players in double figures as the Tigers beat Northland Lutheran 61-41 in a Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball game Friday night at Stratford High School.

Brenden Fecker added 14 points and Ethan Nagel and Cole Hoffman each scored 10 for Stratford, which ends a three-game losing skid and improves to 7-6 overall and 3-3 in the Marawood South.

Stratford bolted out to a 38-24 lead by halftime and cruised from there.

Jacob Price led the Wildcats (3-6, 0-5 Marawood South) with 16 points.

Stratford hosts Chequamegon for a nonconference game Monday.
