WAUPACA – Marshfield went 1-2 on Saturday at the Waupaca Girls Soccer Tournament.
The Tigers won the first game in a shootout over Northland Pines after the game was tied 1-1 following regulation. Marshfield won the shootout 3-0 with goals by Myranda Schmidt, Emily Wolfe and Allison Gruen.
Gruen scored on an assist from Wolfe during regulation. Goalie Kassi Todryk finished with 12 saves.
Marshfield also lost to New Holstein 1-0 and to Kingsford, Mich. 4-2.
Schmidt was injured in warm-ups, making it difficult for the Tigers, according to assistant coach Steve Lindner.
Marshfield was outshot 7-4, with Naomi Crump saving six shots for the Tigers.
Kingsford scored three times in the first half of the Tigers’ final game.
Abigail Brock and Courtney Thuman scored goals for the Tigers, on assists from Wolfe and Katie Marotz.
Crump had 12 saves in the loss.
Marshfield (2-13-2) plays at Rhinelander on Tuesday and hosts D.C. Everest on Thursday.
