LOYAL – First-place Loyal held Marshfield Columbus Catholic to just seven points in the first half and cruised to a 60-37 victory in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Tuesday night at Loyal High School.
The Greyhounds led 34-7 at halftime and maintained their big lead the rest of the way.
Devyn Schoonover led Loyal (13-3, 11-0 Cloverbelt East) with 15 points, which included three of the Greyhounds’ seven 3-pointers.
Columbus Catholic shot just 24 percent (10 of 42) in the loss to fall to 7-8 overall and 4-6 in Cloverbelt East.
Jess Trad led the Dons with 12 points, making all seven of her free throw attempts.
Columbus Catholic hosts Spencer on Friday.
