LOYAL – Bobby Pilz scored a game-high 36 points but the Spencer boys basketball team suffered just its third loss in its last 11 games, losing 67-63 to Loyal in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Monday night at Loyal High School.
Loyal led 29-23 at halftime and was able to finish off the win by going 15 of 20 from the free throw line.
Pilz made 12 of 21 shots from the field and 9 of 11 at the free throw line on his way to a career-high 36 points.
Calvin Lenz added 14 points and eight rebounds, and Noah Zastrow had 11 points for Spencer (11-6, 7-5 Cloverbelt East).
Cameron Brussow and Logan Bogdonovich each scored 17 points for Loyal (13-3, 10-3 Cloverbelt East).
Spencer hosts Neillsville on Thursday.
