NEILLSVILLE – Columbus Catholic was held to 24 percent shooting and dropped a 53-37 decision to Neillsville in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Tuesday night at Neillsville High School.
Abby Baierl scored 14 points for the Dons, who drop to 8-11 overall and 5-9 in the Cloverbelt East. Columbus made just 10 of 41 shots from the field and was only 10 of 19 at the free throw line in the loss.
Kayla Lis had 14 points and Danielle Pfeiffer added 13 for Neillsville, which is now 15-3 and 11-2 in the Cloverbelt East.
The Dons hung close, trailing by eight at halftime, before Neillsville outscored them 27-19 in the second half.
Columbus Catholic is at Colby on Friday.
