Marshfield boys hockey blanks Wausau East

WAUSAU – The Marshfield boys hockey team shutout Wausau East 5-0 in its final Wisconsin Valley Conference game of the season Thursday at Marathon Park.

Five different Tigers scored in the victory as they finish 2-9 in the WVC and are now 6-15-1 overall with their season finale set for Saturday at Stevens Point Pacelli. Wausau East is now 2-20 and ends up 0-6 in an abbreviated Valley schedule.

Adam Maki, Ryan Krueger and Collin Barth scored goals for Marshfield in the first period. Isaac Wellens added a second-period goal and Ben Baur scored 3:23 into the third for the Tigers.

Haydon Roy-Peterson had 19 saves in goal to earn the shutout victory for Marshfield.
