MARATHON – Stratford was held to 37 percent shooting and just 4 of 24 from 3-point range as it lost to Marathon 70-45 in a Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball game Friday night at Marathon High School.
Marathon, which already clinched the Marawood South championship, is now 16-2 overall and 11-0 in the conference. Marathon is at Cloverbelt Conference East Division leader Marshfield Columbus Catholic on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Stratford falls to 9-9 overall and 5-6 in the Marawood South after suffering its second loss in a row in the conference.
Brenden Fecker, Nick Stoflet and Derrick Schmidt each scored nine points to lead the Tigers.
Stratford is off until Thursday when it plays at Northland Lutheran in its Marawood South finale.
