SPENCER – The Loyal girls basketball team clinched its second-straight Cloverbelt Conference East Division title with a 69-36 victory over Spencer on Saturday at Spencer High School.
Spencer was held to 32 percent shooting (16 of 49) and was outscored 15-0 at the free throw line. The Rockets are now 11-9 overall and 8-7 in the Cloverbelt East. Spencer wraps up its conference schedule Monday at Greenwood.
Loyal (17-3, 15-0 Cloverbelt East) jumped out to a 32-15 lead by halftime and built its lead from there.
The Greyhounds held a 50-23 rebounding advantage and were 15 of 27 at the free throw line in the win.
Sydney Kind led Spencer with 15 points and five rebounds.
Karsyn Rueth had 26 points and 11 rebounds for Loyal, making 10 of 15 shots from the field, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range.
