WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield boys basketball raced out to a 12-point lead by halftime with an explosive first 18 minutes and won its fourth-straight game with a 71-57 victory over Wisconsin Rapids on Monday at Lincoln High School.
Alec Hinson made 5 of 6 3-pointers and scored 24 points for his second-straight 20-point game for the Tigers.
Ethan Voss added 14 points and Adam Fravert had 12 points and seven rebounds for Marshfield, which is now 12-7 overall and 5-5 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.
Dylan Bassuener had 22 points for Wisconsin Rapids, which drops to 3-17 overall and 2-8 in the Valley.
Marshfield led 42-30 at halftime and maintained its lead in the second half.
The Tigers had just five turnovers and shot 47 percent (27 of 57), while holding Rapids to 34 percent shooting (18 of 52).
The Tigers host Rhinelander on Tuesday in a nonconference game, their final regular-season home game of the season.
