MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Wrestling Club will be hosting the Hall’s World of Gold Wrestling Clinic, featuring three-time Olympian and Olympic silver medalist Dennis Hall of Stevens Point, in conjunction with a fund-raising event for Brad Dolezal on Sunday, June 13, at Marshfield High School.
Dolezal, who will be a senior at Marshfield High School next year, has been selected to participate in the 2010 FILA Cadet Pan American Wrestling Championships in Manaus, Brazil, from July 9-19.
Dolezal, a national champion in Greco style wrestling and three-time national runner-up in folkstyle, and a two-time WIAA state champion at Marshfield, was one of 10 wrestlers selected for the cadet age group to wrestle at the Pan American Championships in the freestyle division.
The camp featuring Hall costs $20 for kindergarten to fifth-graders, and $30 for sixth- through 12th-graders, and all of the proceeds will go to the Marshfield Wrestling Club to help pay for Dolezal’s trip expenses. Any extra dollars raised beyond the trip expenses will be forwarded to the Marshfield Tiger Booster Club to help fund the new athletic sports complex that will be built at the high school.
A brat fry also will be held to help raise funds for Dolezal’s trip to Brazil.
Forty-one countries will be represented at the Pan American Championships, with Dolezal wrestling in the 69 kilogram (151.8 pounds) weight class.
All extra donations are welcome. See the Marshfield Wrestling Club flyer for details.
