Pittsville edges Spencer softball

SPENCER – Pittsville scored twice in the top of the first inning and made the lead hold up, knocking off Spencer 3-1 in a nonconference softball game Tuesday at ARC Park.

Pittsville pitcher Summer Wilke allowed just four hits and didn’t walk a batter to earn the complete-game win. She struck out seven and added two runs scored and two hits, including a double for the Panthers.

Arriel Kohl was 3-for-3 and Maranda Kenyon was 2-for-4 and scored the other run for Pittsville (10-6).

Nicki Bruss took the loss, giving up three walks and nine hits, while striking out one.

Dominque Stange was 2-for-3 and Monica Stange had a double and a run scored for the Rockets (10-5).

Spencer has another nonconference game Friday at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption.
