MARSHFIELD – Marshfield Columbus Catholic regrouped after allowing the tying run to score in the top of the seventh with a run of its own in the bottom half of the frame and defeated Colby in walk-off fashion 5-4 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball game Tuesday at Jack Hackman Field.
Specifics of the Dons’ win were not provided.
The score was tied 3-3 after four innings before Columbus Catholic scored a run in the fifth.
Colby rallied with a run in the seventh, but the Dons (2-5, 2-3 Cloverbelt East) won it in the bottom of the inning with another run.
Billy Young earned the win for the Dons, striking out five and walking four in a complete-game effort.
Noah Taylor had a single and a triple, Matthias Gouin also added a triple, and Tyler Fuerlinger had a single and a double for the Dons.
Columbus plays at Granton on Thursday.
