STRATFORD – Cole Hoffman tossed a three-hit complete game and Dylan Peterson drove in both runs as the Stratford baseball team slid past Pittsville 2-1 in a Marawood Conference South Division matchup Friday at the Tiger Stadium Complex.
Peterson drove in Hoffman twice, in the fourth and sixth innings, to provide the Tigers with all they needed.
Hoffman struck out three and walked four to earn the win for Stratford, which improves to 7-6 and 6-4 in the Marawood South. Pittsville drops to 11-5 and 5-4 in the conference.
Stratford plays at first-place Marathon on Monday. Marathon would clinch at least a share of the Marawood South title with a win.
