Marshfield Chaparrals baseball grabs first win of season

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Chaparrals amateur baseball team ripped 16 hits and pulled out an 8-7 victory over the Interwald Woodticks in Dairyland League action Sunday afternoon at Jack Hackman Field.

Ryan Williams earned the victory for the Chaparrals (1-1 overall and Dairyland) with four shutout innings in relief of starter Ryan Metz.

Sam Schwanebeck went 4-for-5, Eric Pritzl had three hits, and Lucius Messerschmidt and Cole Cuddie each had three RBIs for Marshfield.

The Chaps’ next game is Sunday, May 22, against Westboro at 1:30 p.m. at Hackman Field.
