KRONENWETTER – The Auburndale softball team continued its strong second half of the season with a doubleheader sweep of Northland Lutheran in Marawood Conference South Division action Monday.
The Apaches won 10-2 and 22-0 to improve to 8-8-1 overall and 5-6 in the Marawood South. Auburndale has won six of its last seven games.
In the opening game, Alexis Soppe earned the win, allowing just four hits.
Hannah Bolder had two hits and four RBIs, and Kaeden Dvorak and Sydney Schmutzer each had two hits for Auburndale.
In Game 2, Auburndale scored 13 times in the third inning to put the game away via the 10-run rule after five innings.
The Apaches had 16 hits, four from Mackenzie Raab. Bolder had three more hits, including a home run, and drove in four again.
Auburndale hosts its home tournament on Saturday with Loyal/Granton, Pittsville and Amherst competing.
