MERRILL – Teams wrapped up the seven-meet Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Friday at Merrill Public Golf Course.
Wausau West won the meet with a score of 322, ending Stevens Point’s six-match winning streak in the tournament. Marshfield finished fourth for the fifth meet in a row, ending with a score of 340.
Derek Michalski led Marshfield with an 81, tying for seventh place. He ended up in sixth in the overall standings, earning second-team all-conference. Teammate Zach Hanson finished 10th with an 83 and was 14th in the overall standings to gain honorable mention all-WVC.
Matt Tuman of Wausau East was the meet medalist with a 70, winning by eight strokes over Wausau West’s Josh Yang. Tuman was the WVC individual champion for the second year in a row.
Rounding out Marshfield’s scoring was Grant Michaelis with an 86 and Joe Kirschnik with a 90.
