MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield volleyball team responded from a disappointing home tournament last weekend to outlast Stevens Point 3-2 in its Wisconsin Valley Conference opener Thursday night at Marshfield High School.

“This was an awesome way to start our conference season,” Marshfield coach Dawn Sadowska said. “We played with so much heart, something I hope to continue to see.”

Stephanie Rhodes had 19 kills, 19 digs and nine blocks, and setter Anna Ripp had 27 assists for the Marshfield offense. Jordyn Wilcott added eight kills, and Alexa Aumann had seven blocks and three service aces as well.
