MARATHON – Stratford posted three pins in the first four matches and went on to beat Marathon 51-30 in a Marawood Conference wrestling match Thursday night at Marathon High School.
Derek Dehlinger (135 pounds) pinned Cody Draeger 1:22 into the second period to put the Tigers (4-1 Marawood Conference) on the scoreboard with a 6-0 lead.
After Jake Fitzsimmons of Marathon tied the match with a pin at 140, Tylyn Hoover pinned Kyle Wilkosz in just 39 seconds of the 145-pound match, and Mark Marquardt followed with a pin in only 58 seconds of the 152-pound match to put Stratford up 18-6.
Luke Radke (215 pounds), Indy Spindler (285) and jake Gyer (130) all posted first-period pins for the Tigers, who remain one win behind Edgar in the dual-meet standings.
Stratford hosts a multi-dual tournament Friday at 5:30 p.m.
