WISCONSIN DELLS – The Stratford wrestling team won four out of five matches to finish second in its pool at the Dells Duals Classic on Saturday at the Wisconsin Dells Center.
Stratford beat Random Lake 59-13, Slinger 50-15, Lomira 44-18, and Mineral Point 64-7, before losing to Stoughton 33-28. Stoughton finished 5-0 in the pool.
Max Schwabe at 120 pounds, Mason Kauffman at 152 pounds and Kamren Bornbach at 220 pounds both went 5-0 for Stratford. Schwabe and Bornbach each won three matches by pin, and Kauffman had a technical fall and a pair of major decisions.
Manny Drexler (106 pounds), Derek Marten (132), Jake Drexler (138) and Dylan Schoenherr (182) all were 4-1 for the Tigers.
Stratford is off until Dec. 22 when it wrestles at Edgar in a Marawood Conference dual meet.
