SUAMICO – Marshfield shot just 33 percent and couldn’t overcome a slow start in a 61-42 loss to Bay Port in a nonconference girls basketball game Thursday night at Bay Port High School.
The loss drops Marshfield to 2-4 this season, while Bay Port improves to 6-2.
Marshfield made just 14 of 42 shots from the field and were only 1 of 9 from 3-point range.
Ema Fehrenbach had 15 points to lead Marshfield. The rest of the team was just 9 of 31 from the field.
Marshfield will host its annual Marshfield Tigers Holiday Tournament on Dec. 28-29. The Tigers will play Hudson on Dec. 28 at 7:30 p.m., and Oshkosh North on Dec. 29 at 3 p.m. Wausau West will play North at 6 p.m. on the 28th and Hudson at 1:30 p.m. on the 29th.
