WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield boys basketball team put together another impressive offensive performance as it crushed Wisconsin Rapids 83-48 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Saturday night at Lincoln High School.
A night after beating D.C. Everest 79-43, the Tigers shot 56 percent from the field (29 of 51), made seven 3-pointers and were 18 of 21 at the free throw line to roll past the Raiders on the road with a season-high scoring output.
Ethan Posteluk scored 14 points, and Seth Anderson and Grant Michaelis each added 13 points in a balanced scoring attack for the Marshfield, which is now 5-6 overall and 2-2 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. For the second game in a row, 11 of the 12 Tigers on the roster scored in a victory.
Anderson was 6 of 8 from the field and also had a team-high eight rebounds for Marshfield. Reed Miller and Alec Hinson each added nine points in the win.
Marshfield plays at Wausau East, which is 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the WVC, on Tuesday.
