WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Auburndale boys basketball led first-place Wisconsin Rapids Assumption at halftime, but couldn’t hold on as the Royals won 60-49 in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday night at Assumption High School.
Auburndale led 24-22 at halftime before being outscored 38-25 by Assumption, which remains unbeaten in the Marawood South at 7-0 and moves to 11-2 overall. Auburndale drops to 7-6 and 4-3 in the conference.
Colton Wright had 11 points, and Caleb Weinfurter and Collin Hawkins each added 10 for Auburndale.
Auburndale hosts Pittsville on Friday.
