AUBURNDALE – Colton Wright drilled seven 3-pointers and finished with 27 points to lift the Auburndale boys basketball team to a 60-42 victory over Pittsville on Friday night at Auburndale High School.
Wright was 9 of 14 overall from the field and 7 of 11 from 3-point range to score nearly half of the Apaches’ points in the home victory.
Auburndale was 22 of 49 overall from the field and made nine 3-pointers total.
The Apaches held a narrow 25-23 lead at halftime before blowing the game open in the second half with a 16-point advantage.
Luke Olsen added 10 points, and Collin Hawkins had nine points and eight rebounds for the Apaches (8-6, 5-3 Marawood Conference South Division).
Auburndale plays a nonconference game at Stanley-Boyd on Tuesday.
