WAUSAU – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team had its season come to an end with a 77-62 loss to UW-Marathon County in the regional finals of the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference playoffs.
Marshfield trailed 33-29 at halftime before the Huskies (13-9) pulled away in the second half.
Austin Frick made six 3-pointers and had 24 points to lead Marathon County, which moves on to the WCC State Tournament on Feb. 25-26 at Wisconsin Dells.
UW-Marshfield/Wood County ends its season with an 8-12 record. Statistics for the Marauders were not provided.
