SPENCER – Auburndale had an efficient night on offense, shooting 58 percent from the field and drilling 10 3-pointers in a 79-46 victory over Spencer in a nonconference boys basketball game Monday night at Spencer High School.
Auburndale made 30 of 52 shots from the floor, including 10 of 21 from 3-point range, and had 26 assists on those 30 made baskets.
Colton Wright led the way for the Apaches (14-7), who have won five straight games, with 24 points. He was 5 of 8 from 3-point range and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Luke Olsen added 11 points and Colten Yeske was 5-for-5 shooting and had 10 points for Auburndale.
The Apaches ran out to a 43-27 lead by halftime and held Spencer (7-14) to 19 points in the second half.
Jack Bezlyk scored 16 points and Noah Zastrow added 15 for the Rockets.
Auburndale will host Prentice in a Marawood Conference Crossover and Spencer will play on the road in a Cloverbelt Conference Crossover on Thursday to finish their respective regular-season schedules. Spencer’s opponent will be announced Tuesday.
