AUBURNDALE – Auburndale plated four runs in the fourth and sixth innings to blow past Colby 10-2 in a nonconference baseball game Thursday at Auburndale High School.
The game was tied 2-2 after Colby scored twice in the top of the fourth before the Auburndale bats exploded.
Auburndale scored four times in the bottom of the fourth and four more in the sixth to win going away.
Dylan Altmann went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, Colton Wright had two hits, including a triple, and drove in two, and Cam Ertl also had two hits and two RBIs for the Apaches (2-0).
Caleb Weinfurter and Wright combined to shut out Colby over the final three innings to preserve the win.
Auburndale hosts Edgar on Monday.
