MARSHFIELD – Marshfield and Hortonville played to a 0-0 tie in a nonconference girls soccer game Friday at Griese Park.

Marshfield held a 13-11 advantage in shots on goal.

Wendy Rodriguez saved six shots playing the first half in goal for Marshfield (1-4-1). Andrea Carolfi took over after halftime and had five saves.

Lauren Mertz had 13 saves for the Polar Bears (2-1-2).

“It was a very good exciting high school game with the outcome, all the way until the end, in doubt,” Marshfield coach Steve Lindner said. “We had more chances tonight than recently, but just missed on a few occasions. We are getting used to playing with the players on the field and this is starting to produce good results.”

Marshfield hosts Wisconsin Rapids in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Tuesday at Griese Park. Game time is
