COLBY – Tiffany Meinders threw a three-inning no-hitter and hit a three-run home run to lead the Spencer softball team to a 17-0 rout of Colby in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday at Colby High School.
The game was called after three innings due to the 15-run rule.
“I liked our focus from the start,” Spencer coach Jason Gorst said. “We played a prettly clean ballgame.”
Meinders struck out eight and walked two to earn the win for the Rockets (3-4, 2-0 Cloverbelt East). She also had a single to go with her home run and finished with five RBIs.
Felicia Bauer had three RBIs, and Katie Fleischman and Cinnamin Harwood each scored three runs for Spencer.
The Rockets play at Loyal on Monday.
