GRANTON – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team used three big innings to get past Granton 10-1 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday.
The Dons scored three runs in the third and sixth innings, and four in the seventh to end a mini two-game losing streak. Columbus is now 3-6 overall and 3-5 in the Cloverbelt East. Granton drops to 0-10 and 0-8 in the conference.
Bailey Keffer earned the win, striking out nine in six innings. Bryce Fuerlinger struck out the side in the seventh to finish it off for Columbus.
Bryce Fuerlinger was 3-for-4, Evan Dieringer was 2-for-3, and Keffer had two hits and two RBIs for the Dons.
Columbus plays at Neillsville on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
