COLBY – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic softball won its first two Cloverbelt Conference East Division games of the season as it swept a doubleheader at Colby High School on Tuesday.
The Dons won 10-4 and 11-10 to improve to 3-7 overall and 2-7 in the Cloverbelt East. Colby remains winless, falling to 0-9 and 0-8 in conference play.
In Game 1, Sierra Litwaitis threw a complete game for the Dons, striking out three and walking three. She also had a double and an RBI at the plate.
Maren Seefluth had a single, a double, and three RBIs, and Addison Baierl added a double and a single for the Dons, who had eight hits in all.
Litwaitis smacked a two-run home run in the fifth inning of the second game to give the Dons the two-run lead. She finished off the game on the mound to earn the victory in both contests. She also added a triple in the game and finished with four RBIs.
Seefluth had a single, a double, and a triple, and Ella Schultz added a pair of hits in the victory for the Dons.
Columbus hosts Greenwood on Friday.
